![]() Maybe the patch can fix this case, or maybe a different patch could be made… 4K at 60 Hz requires 533 MHz which may be beyond the capabilities of the port. The patch I linked was originally for removing a 165 MHz pixel clock limit for HDMI to allow resolutions higher than 2K at 60 Hz. The OS still has a hard time seeing the 4k display even from a cold boot.It could be that the Windows graphics driver has the same incorrect limitation as the Mac graphics driver or maybe the port just doesn’t support 4K at 60 Hz. So now, the only thing that's a bit annoying is that i have to turn off / turn on the display every time i boot into the hackintosh. from there i repeated step 2 to implement 2560x1440 60hz. it was recognized by the OS at the default 4k / 30hz, so i then switched to the 4k/60hz custom setting in switchresx. the simplest yet most important step comes here. so after this reboot, my primary display went completely dark and the OS didn't even recognize it. if the scan rate doesn't auto-populate, manually enter 60hz. load up a custom resolution of 3840x2160 using the 'simplified settings' of CVT-RB. upgraded the firmware on the cac-1070 connector. modify SMBIOS to have the OS (snowflake warning) self-identify as an iMac17,1 (not sure if this step is even necessary)ġ. So i did a clean install of High sierra macOS 10.13 (17A405) using the hdmi port. Is extremely important to config in "BIOS OS Type: Other OS" to "BIos OS type: Windows 8" so you can disable CSM (This is what enable 4k at 60hz) So using this cable it wasn't a solution for me. I was using the cac-1073 Displayport to HDMI active cable from Club3D with my previous Philips 4k TV, but for some reason with this LG and some Samsung's tvs i've got "No Signal" from Boot. Teamviewer (in current macos and the app on the phone or other pc to control the computer if you are able to boot into the os but you dont have signal.)
